Gene has spent the last 24 years traveling the world for the purpose of educating himself in a variety of art disciplines including painting, music, photography, and videography through his fascination with surfing, yoga, human nature and Chinese medicine.
On one of his expeditions, he found his most favorite surf spot in the world at Padang-Padang Beach in Bali, Indonesia and has made Bali his home base ever since. Gene loves shooting photos of both his travels and of the surfing lifestyle. Gene’s art has been exhibited in the USA, Australia, India, Indonesia and Russia, and is being sold in galleries as well as to private collectors around the world.

The launching party will take place on the 17th of December at the Taksu Gallery and Woobar W Retreat & Spa Bali in Seminyak, starting at 5.00pm with a Happy Hour of free drinks from Coca-Cola, Heineken, and Jim Beam to get the audience warmed up for a fashion show of Lisa Blue’s latest swimwear and Moskova’s men’s underwear, and DJ Maxim Gankin and DJ Taro Joy will be spinning out their best tunes far into the night.

About Gene Kreyd:
Born in St, Petersburg Russia, Gene was exposed to and surrounded by art from birth and has studied many art forms since. In 1973 he came to the West with his parents, first to Europe then to the U.S, where in California he discovered surfing. This became his form of "ultimate freedom", and surfing is the axis of his life revolves around and the inspiration for his creativity.
Gene first came to Indonesia in 1985 to surf Padang-Padang, and Bali has been his home base ever since. In search of waves and new ideas he travels the world, often putting himself in extreme situations to taste and capture the essence of his reality. Creating films, writing music, shooting photos, and making designs for fabrics, the mix of all these elements are manifested in his paintings.
For him multimedia is where it is at. He is into a full multi sensory experience, often using his photography as the "base layer" for his works. There are no limits to his creative expression. His intention is to inspire and awaken.
