Two surfers aged 30 and 19 went to the man's aid but the younger of the two became exhausted and had to be kept afloat by Pambula lifesaver Andrew Holt until an Inflatable rescue boat arrived.
“Surfing at night, well it was right on dusk,” he said.
“It is never advisable because if something does go wrong it can be quite difficult retrieving you from the water but fortunately for this man I can only praise the action of the two surfers who went in and kept the man afloat and helped him back to shore.”
