The 2014 conference will be “Taking Surfing Medicine to Extremes”! The most relevant and extreme conditions affecting the surfer will be presented by worlds leading experts. Expect exciting lectures and workshops in drowning, lifeguarding including Jet Ski rescue, and pre-hospital medicine related to surfing. And much more…. an update in surfing performance and training, paediatric Surfing Medicine consultation and an overview of public health in Surfing Medicine.

The EASD wants to connect with the surfer in 2014, so besides a medical conference, we will organise a symposium about medical conditions linked to surfing for the surf community during the conference. So bring along your stoked surf buddies to Ireland!

The EASD is taking you to the West Coast of Ireland for the 3rd Annual Conference Surfing Medicine! We have found an amazing location in Ireland, with its impressive coastlines, world class reefs & beach breaks and a stoked community of (big wave) surfers; the ideal place for 3rd Annual Conference of Surfing Medicine!

This year we are “Taking Surfing Medicine to Extremes” and will be joined by forerunners in Extreme Surfing and Medicine, including: Irish Big Wave Surfer, Billabong XXL 2013 Finalist, Lifeguard, and Paramedic, Peter Conroy; Wilderness-Expedition Medicine trailblazer, Brazilian Dr. Karina Oliani; Hawaiian Pipeline Masters Doctor and co-author of “Surf Survival”, Dr. Clayton Everline, and many more special guests.

This Conference will deliver high quality, CME accredited, content through fascinating lectures, practical “hands-on” workshops, and for the first time, expert-led Master classes.

Our speakers include global leaders in their respective fields who are ready and willing to provide specialist knowledge, insight, and inspiration to delegates.

Incorporating topics on all aspects of Surfing Medicine, attendees will have the opportunity to learn, share knowledge and experience, and participate in both structured, and informal, discussion relating to the challenges of Big Wave settings and Surf Exploration in Extreme environments.
