Prime event taking place in Portugal got underway yesterday at Praia do Guincho.
It was a long and hard first day in Guincho, with powerful waves demanding an extra effort from all the athletes.
There were quite a few upsets in Round 1, with some of the CT competitors being eliminated. Taj Burrow, Mick Fanning, Ace Buchan, Mitch Crews, Kai Otton, Travis Logie and Sebastian Zietz, are already out of the competition and heading to Peniche, where the CT event will be held starting next weekend.
