THE FIRST SURF SESSION EVER AT PIPELINE

A moment that defined modern surfing as we know it - luckily on film.

If there’s ha place you can call holy ground in surfing, that is Pipeline on the hawaiina North Shore. Bruce Brown was there and filmed the very first time someone surfed those waves: Phil Edwards was the man that proved that those fast, hollow and dangerous waves could be surfed, back in 1961, with no leash and an old school longboard.

This session made Pipeline the surfing Mecca it is today, and helped to shape the modern surfing.
